Limited collection and worker exploitation

In the Udupi district, only 3% of multi-layered plastic waste is collected and managed properly.
Waste management systems in the villages surrounding Udupi - a coastal city - are vastly under-resourced.

4. Evaluation

3 third-party audits since 2022

Each Project's plastic recovery is tracked and traced via reTrace technology.Furthermore, in line with the comprehensive rePurpose Audit & Assurance Protocol (rAAP), each project is audited for environmental compliance and social safeguards through multiple levels of internal audits - from documentation checks to onsite visits.
In addition projects are also audited through third parties to provide an independent assurance.

Asha Moolya, once burdened by the long hours and limited staff at Solid Liquid Resource Management (SLRM) in the Nitte Grama panchayat, found a lifeline when she decided to join Project Anmol Kinara in Udupi. Her previous job had her working long hours with no holidays which often resulted in spending limited time with her family. After joining rePurpose Global’s Project Anmol Kinara she had the opportunity to find a job with reasonable hours allowing her to balance work and family.
