The Global Impact Catalyst (GIC) was established to address key challenges faced by regional plastic waste management SMEs in accessing investment to scale localized solutions.
We work with funders, philanthropies, development organizations, brands, and investors to implement our accelerator program, which builds robust waste supply chains. By enhancing technical capacities and investment readiness, we enable these SMEs to secure funding, and achieve scale.
Our goal is to ensure their survival, expansion, and environmental and social effectiveness, ultimately driving investments into the waste sector.

Technical Capacity Building
Key Activities:
- Waste supply chain assessment and gap analysis
- Creation of optimized processes and operating protocols
(e.g. OSHA, Track & trace, Documentation, Employment practices) - Risk assessment and risk mitigation strategy development
(Legal, Environmental, Supply chain, Transparency, Social safeguards) - Deployment of the Lab’s Outcomes-Based Waste Prevention (OBWP) mechanism and other proprietary operating frameworks
